14 Suspected Rebels Released from Prison in Yei

Security organs in Yei River State have released 14 detained youths suspected of involving in armed opposition activities.
Brigade Commander Chol Deng Chol told the media that the army will continue releasing anyone arrested.
“16 more detainees who are still in custody will also be released soon”, he said.
One of the detainees, Muamba Saidi Juma, thanked the authorities for releasing them, describing it as God’s answer to their prayers before urging all South Sudanese to work for peace.
State Governor David Lokonga Moses reiterated his call to the armed opposition group to stop violent activities.
“Peace has started prevailing in Yei. Let us embrace dialogue to amicably resolve our grievances without causing suffering to civilians”, Lokonga said.
