Presidency slams Kenyan Senator, blames his ignorance on the Country’s Affairs
The Presidency has responded bitterly to Kenyan Senator Anyang Nyongo for calling the government illegitimate and recommending that the country be put under United Nations (UN) trusteeship.
A top aide of President Kiir who prefers not to be mentioned said the Kenyan lawmaker should know that Kiir is only heading a Unity Government as such it’s irrelevant to say Kiir’s government instead of the Unity Government.
“Every body should understand that Kiir does not make decisions alone in the Unity Government. It’s the peace partners, as such it’s not fair to put the blame of everything on him”, said the aide.
The Kenyan Senator in an op-ed published in Kenya’s Star Newspaper said “people are being killed without rhyme or reason; homes have been destroyed almost everywhere; gang raping of women by undisciplined soldiers goes on unabated; and hunger looms large in every village or in the forests where people are hiding,”
“All this happens when there is a government in Juba claiming to be in charge and to rule the country legitimately. Nothing could be further from the truth,” adds the lawmaker.
The Presidential Aide advised the Senator to concentrate on Kenya’s internal problems other than South Sudan because all they love to talk of is the negative side.
“Why can’t people for once talk of the achievements this government has made”, concluded the aide.
